Airolator Carnival Aerating Fountains

Airolator Carnival aerating fountains are a floating fountain designed for both aeration and decoration.  Floating fountains such as the Airolator Font’ N-Aire are made for decoration and don’t provide a great deal of aeration while true aerators such as the Airolator Aquarian are made to aerate water, not look pretty.  The Airolator Carnival does both.

The Airolator Carnival uses the same propeller as the Airolator Aquarian but moves the water through a nozzle assembly with a wide throat and flow straightener.  This assembly creates an attractive upside down cone effect that still moves large amounts of water providing high levels of aeration. 

The Airolator Carnival uses a motor driven propeller to pump large volumes of water through its wide open nozzle into the air.  As water passes through the nozzle its split into tiny micro droplets increasing the surface area of water exposed to air.  This improves gas exchange between water and air and cools the water so that when it returns to the main water body it moves down the water column dragging additional water with it in an induced flow.  The combination of pumping, induced flow and cooling create a continual turnover of the pond, lake or dam preventing stratification up to 3m deep.

Aerating fountains are excellent providers of emergency aeration for preventing fish kills.  When an aerating fountain is turned on, dissolved oxygen levels are increased immediately providing a refuge for fish.

If you’re shopping around for an aerating fountain beware of claims from manufacturers about their aeration capabilities.  It’s true that all fountains provide some degree of aeration because they all move water but unless they use a propeller pumping through a wide open nozzle they’re not moving much water and the aeration benefit is insignificant.

Airolator Carnival fountain aerators are made in the USA to high quality standards.  They use the world renowned Franklin Electric motors that have no seals or bearings to maintain, are water cooled, water lubricated, have no oil to contaminate or rob energy and are thermal overload protected. 

Propellers are high speed, foul resistant with a high shear water spraying action.  The computer designed nozzle is engineered to break up the water column for high oxygen transfer rates. 

Airolator floats are square in shape to provide extra stability and are made of a hard polyethylene outer filled with styrene foam making sure the float will never sink even if punctured.

One of the best features of Airolator products is they’re made using easy to change components.  Not only does this make them easy and inexpensive to repair (even the best quality products have problems at some point) but they’re the only product that we’re aware of that allows you to change from a high flow propeller aerating system to a high lift centrifugal pump impellor system using the same float, motor and cable.

What does this mean?  It means you can run the unit as an aerator for most of the time making the most of the water quality improvements that aeration provides; then when you want a more decorative effect you can easily change the unit into a decorative fountain using the optional centrifugal pump assembly.  This is great for those that entertain or have functions.  Wedding and party planners can even let their clients pick out the fountain they like best.
