GPS Lake Mapping

Using the U. S. government’s Landsat satellite system integrated with patented algorithmic imaging technology, Blue Water Satellite can detect the presence, location, and concentration (down to parts per billion) of early Cyanobacteria (blue green algae) blooms. This early detection provides valuable information to isolate trouble spots, significantly lower chemical treatment costs and greatly reduce potential damage to affected water bodies. Other parameters that can be monitored using the Blue Water Satellite service include phosphorus (on land and in water), Chlorophyll-a, E Coli, total vegetation coverage, septic leakage and oil. Images have been archived since 1982 providing researchers the ability to obtain a historical perspective of a water body for use in trend analysis.
