Land Based Pumps
Land based pumps offer a rugged pumping solution with a lower risk of pump cloggage because the pump is not sitting within the sediment and suspended solids of the water body. Another advantage of land based pumps is the ability to be used with chlorinated water as submersible pumps will be damaged by chlorine by a buildup of a layer similar to limescale in a kettle. Just like submersible pumps, they will vary in size, max head and flow rates and they will also share similar pump selection principles. As with submersible pumps, you will want to operate in the middle range of the pumps capabilities to keep it in a healthy operational zone. Space, plumbing and application will determine which pump is suitable.
